Andre Harness founded The Golden Triangle Big Band in 2023 to bring the tradition of big band jazz to Southeast Texas. With nearly 20 years of experience as a saxophonist and music educator, Andre saw a need for a high-level jazz ensemble that could both perform and support music education in the region.

The band made its debut with a concert titled “A Night of Nestico” at the Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont, featuring a group of skilled musicians, many of whom are Lamar University alumni. Under Andre’s leadership, the group quickly grew into a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving big band jazz and offering clinics, scholarships, and youth programs.

Through the Golden Triangle Big Band, Andre continues to connect local audiences with classic and contemporary jazz, while helping the next generation of musicians grow and thrive.

The Andre Harness Quartet is a modern jazz ensemble rooted in the tradition of small group swing, bebop, and post-bop. Founded in 2022 by saxophonist and bandleader Andre Harness, the group offers a flexible, improvisation-forward format that complements Andre’s work with larger ensembles like The Golden Triangle Big Band.

The quartet evolved out of The Lunch Combo (2015–2018), an earlier project that introduced Andre’s approach to melodic phrasing and group interplay to audiences across Southeast Texas. Building on that foundation, the current group performs a mix of jazz standards, modern compositions, and original arrangements with a focus on nuance, space, and communication.

The Andre Harness Quartet brings an accessible, sophisticated sound that resonates with seasoned jazz listeners and new audiences alike. Their performances often feature music by artists such as Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, Thelonious Monk, and Horace Silver, interpreted with clarity, swing, and intention.
