Jazz vision takes root in Southeast Texas with Golden Triangle Big Band
JUNE 29, 2025
Harness left for Austin in 2018, but moved back to the area in 2021 and started a group called The Golden Triangle Big Band. After having the opportunity to see how other big bands function in bigger cities, Harness came back with a vision of how he wanted his band to run. He took the initiative to start the group and it took off from there. What originally started as a passion project quickly turned into something more.

The band is dedicated to preserving the tradition of big band music and bringing it to life for audiences of all ages.
KVLU Public Radio to launch new 'Friday Night Jazz' program
JULY 6, 2023
Harness, a 2017 music performance and saxophone graduate, was presented with the opportunity to host this program following an interview with KVLU Station Manager Jason Miller. Inspired by the knowledge of the KVLU staff, Harness could not deny the opportunity.
Harness’ goal with this new program is to bring jazz music back to the forefront of Southeast Texas.
